Bord Gais Energy has announced its second price cut in 8 months.
Customers will have the unit rate of gas cut by 2.5 per cent - and the unit rate for electricity cut by 2 per cent.
The utility says the cuts will reduce the average household energy bill by just over 44 euro - brining the total reductions this year to almost 100 euro.
The changes come into effect from the 1st of October.
