The government's to set up an official Commission of Investigation into mother and baby homes.
The investigation hopes to establish the truth about conditions in homes around the country.

Meanwhile a separate Cabinet meeting has been scheduled for later today to consider the findings of the Cooke report.
This morning's meeting concluded without ministers getting a chance to consider the report into alleged bugging at the Garda Ombudsman headquarters.
A government spokesman said a separate meeting had been arranged this evening, with a view to having the report published before the end of the day.
