The government is not advising the cancellation of Dublin's St Patrick's Day Parade over Coronavirus fears.

The Parade is due to be held in Dublin City on March 17th.

More than half a million people are expected to attend.

So far, there has only been one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Republic of Ireland.

Following a meeting of the Cabinet, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said "We're not advising anyone to cancel any gatherings at this stage."

However, he says alot can happen between now and the date of the Parade.

The Taoiseach says "As of now, we're not advising anyone to cancel major events or major gatherings such as that."

He says new advice will be published later today or tomorrow on the matter.
