The Government will announce details of its plans on dealing with the homeless crisis today.
It comes as the number of homeless people in Dublin has reached its highest level ever
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny along with the housing Minister Simon Coveney and other members of cabinet will launch the Action plan for Housing and Homelessness later today.
This will include an update of the progress made so far on the issue.
It comes as new figures released this week show 2,000 children are living in emergency accommodation while only one in ten people have any chance of moving out of homelessness.
Earlier this week the Simon Community said that homeless figures in Dublin were at an all time high with 168 people sleeping rough on Monday night.
