Government to reject Dail bid for SiteServ inquiry

The government's expected to block a new attempt to set up a full Commission of Investigation should be held into the sale of SiteServ.

Fianna Fáil's forcing a Dáil vote on whether the review by IBRC's liquidators should be shelved and referred to a full inquiry.

But the government's ruled out a full Commission of Investigation, and its TDs will vote against the plan tonight.

Fianna Fáil's Sean Fleming says the government is trying to "kill off" the issue by holding an investigation which is destined for failure.

He says the liquidators from KPMG - which helped to advise on the original SiteServ sale - were never given the option to put an inquiry into someone else's hands.
