The GovernmentÂ’s been warned of a crisis in the nursing home sector - with a shortfall of 8-thousand beds predicted within seven years.
ThatÂ’s according a new report - which says the HSE must work with private providers to bridge the deficit.
The studyÂ’s authors say the shortage is already overstretching acute hospital care and overcrowding Emergency Departments.
