A Government inquiry into the Grace case is trying to find out why she was left in an abusive foster home for 20 years.

An interim report suggests she may have been kept there after her foster father wrote to former Health Ministers Michael Noonan and Austin Currie.

The Irish Examiner, says hearings will be held in the new year to get to the truth.

The HSE has apologised to intellectually disabled Grace who suffered years of sexual and physical abuse in a foster home she was placed in during the 90s.
