Lawyers for Greyhound Recycling have told the High Court they have video footage which allegedly shows striking workers engaged in unlawful picketing.

The company claims they're blocking lorries and preventing waste from being collected in Dublin city and the court has been asked to order them to stop.

Up to 70 workers have been on strike since mid June in a dispute over pay and conditions.

They claim they've been locked out of their jobs as management try to push through a 35pc pay cut.

Greyhound Recycling says it engaged with the workers through the relevant mediation processes and claims they refused to accept a LC recommendation that would have seen them continue to earn a wage well above the industrial norm.

The head of the company is now seeking a court order to restrain protestors from what he believes is "unlawful picketing".

Michael Buckley claims workers are blocking bin lorries at various locations across Dublin city and that 15pc of bins from 1200 customers have so far been affected.

The High Court is due to be shown video footage of the alleged disruption in a case described by the judge as a "serious public health issue".
