Three men are being treated for serious injuries - after a car chased by Gardaí crashed in Co Clare.

The Garda Ombudsman is investigating the incident which happened in the village of Parteen at around 5 o'clock yesterday evening.

The car pursued by Gardaí is understood to have struck a parked car and injured three bystanders - who are all in their 70s.

The two men in the car then fled the scene and officers launched a search of the area.

Gardaí later arrested one man - who's being questioned at Mayorstone Park.
