The family of Ibrahim Halawa say they're hopeful the approach of Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will result in his return to Ireland.
The Taoiseach has scheduled a call with the Egyptian President for Monday to try and ensure the return of the 21 year old Dubliner after his trial.
Mr Halawa has been in prison since his arrest at a political protests in Cairo in 2013.
