Nearly half of adult children admit they talk to their mammy at least 4-5 days a week

Almost one third of us say our favourite mammyism is "You'd forget your head if it wasn't screwed on"

Other favourite expressions according to the research by Belvita Breakfast include 'It's fierce wet rain out there' and 'have you got your big coat?'

Half of those who don’t live with their mother still go home for their Sunday lunch each week. Almost 4 in 10 believe their mammy would still do their washing if they lived with her.

What might be an uncomfortable insight for some people is the revelation that almost 3 in 10 mum's have access to their children’s home (i.e. keys, alarm codes etc).

One third also admit that their mum still comments on their looks.
