President Michael D Higgins will attend an event at The Back Lane Hostel in Dublin to mark its 100 year anniversary today.

The facility provides accommodation for homeless men in the city.

The hostel which is managed by Depaul in partnership with St. Vincent De Paul, provides accommodation for 60 men each night.
