One in ten commuters take an hour or more to get to work.
That’s according to the 2016 Census figures which showed the car is still the most popular choice for commuting.
66 per cent of people travelled by car to work last year while 22 per cent took the bus and 20 per cent took the train.
There’s also been a huge rise in the number of people cycling to work.
Over 56 thousand said that’s how they commute every day – a jump of 43 per cent.
