A man has been taken to hospital after getting into difficulty diving at Howth Harbour in Dublin this afternoon.

The man in his 40's experienced a rapid ascent while returning to the surface from being 15 meters underwater.

The coast guard team and ambulance provided medical assistance for decompression sickness at the scene.

The man has been taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
