The Dublin Midlands Hospital Group claims that services are safe at Portlaoise Hospital and no services have been recommended for closure by the HSE.
The HSE says that improvements have been made at the hospital since the HIQA report was carried out last October.
The Director General, Tony OÂ’Brien also said there was a blanket refusal by HIQA to engage with the health service over the content of the report.
