Hundreds of shoppers were evacuated from Ikea this evening.

The north Dublin based Swedish furniture store asked customers to abandon their items and leave the store.

The incident was reportedly down to a 'technical issue' and declared a 'false alarm'.

It's not known what the technical issue was and the store re-opened shortly afterwards.

Shoppers were treated to 'thank-you chocolates' after being allowed to re-enter and resume their shopping.
