Residents on the western coast of Mexico are on alert as Hurricane Newton is due to make landfall in the coming hours.
It's picked up winds of up to 75 miles per hour as it moves in from the Pacific coast.
There's a warning it could trigger flash flooding and the US National Hurricane Centre says preparations to protect life and property "should be rushed to completion".
