The employers body IBEC says its time to give consumers a break by cutting taxes in the budget.
The group wants to see €300 million euro in tax cuts delivered in October.
IBEC has published its latest consumer monitor today and says rising employment, strong consumer sentiment and recovering retail sales are all pointing to a solid recovery in the domestic economy.
