Ibrahim Halawa's brother Ahmed has been allowed to visit him in prison in Egypt.

It follows concerns raised by the family about his safety, after the authorities would not confirm where he was being held.

Egypt described the publicity about the Dubliner's case as a "media frenzy", and claimed he was in "good condition".

A statement on the case was issued via the Egyptian Embassy in Dublin earlier:

"the Indictee who was accommodated in Wadi El-Natrun Prison No. 440, was transferred recently to Tora Prison for a temporary period of time. A decision was made to return him to the Wadi El Natrun prison, starting April 10th 2016."

The family is urging the Irish government to take a tougher line with Egypt in relation to the case.
