AIB has become the latest Irish bank to introduce Apple Pay.

It works with debit and personal credit cards everywhere contactless payments are accepted.

It can be used with the iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later, and the Apple Watch.

To celebrate, the bank is bringing a fleet of Apple Pay ice-cream trucks to a number of locations throughout Ireland this weekend.

They will be in locations around Dublin, Galway and Cork - including Merrion Square, Killiney Beach, Salthill, Spanish Arch and Castlepark Marina, Kinsale.

 AIB say actual card numbers are not stored on devices, or on Apple servers.

Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored on your device.

Each transaction is authorised with a one-time unique security code.
