A review of pay and pensions at the top level of the IFA is getting underway in the wake of Eddie Downey's decision to "step back" from his role as association President.
Last night the Association revealed Mr Downey was paid €147,000 a year, while the Deputy President Tim O'Leary is paid €35,000
Mr Downey has apologised and admitted "mistakes were made" after the organisations General Secretary resigned amid controversy over his half a million euro pay and pensions package in 2013.
