The Army Bomb Disposal Team has been called in to deal with an improvised bomb that's been found in north Dublin.

Gardaí requested assistance after a suspect device was found during a planned search of a home in the Deanstown area of Finglas.

The bomb disposal team arrived at the scene at 10 o'clock this morning and found that the device was viable.

The improvised explosive device was made safe and was then removed to a safe military location for deconstruction.

The scene was declared safe at 10.30 am.

The Defence Forces say any evidence will be handed over to the Gardaí to assist them with their investigation.
