Oklahoma has ordered an indefinite stay of execution for Richard Glossip and two other inmates.
It follows a last minute postponement yesterday, when prison officials discovered they had the wrong drug for the lethal injection.
The governor has asked for more time to check if the drugs are compliant with state rules.
Glossip denies ordering the killing of his former boss in 1997.
