An independent group is being set up to represent the views of consumers in dealing with Irish Water.

The 32-member group will include people from sectors like agriculture, the disabled and consumer groups.

Chairman of the Public Water Form, Dr Tom Collins says homeowners who refuse to pay water bills or register with Irish Water can also apply to join it - because it's better to have an official forum to consider their complaints.

However the invitation comes as a group which has led campaigns against the introduction of water charges now plans to expand its campaign to include other societal issues.

The Right2Water campaign is expanding into a 'Right2Change' movement, and is tonight beginning a series of nationwide meetings to discuss its electoral plans.
