Inflation over the past year is estimated to be at 4.9%.
European-wide figures released by the CSO showed that food prices here continue to go up year-on-year by more than 7%.
The EU figure is measured at 6.1% - far above the ECB's ideal rate of 2%.
The CSO will confirm Ireland's latest inflation rate in the coming weeks.
