Independent News and Media is to close its printing operation in Belfast with the loss of up to 89 jobs.
The company says it is however committed to its publishing business there - whose titles include the Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Life and Sunday World.
The Royal Avenue premises currently prints the Irish editions of several newspapers but in a statement this evening INM said the premises was no longer viable.
Business will continue as normal with INM relocating to new officers in Belfast.
A period of consultation is to get underway with staff and their trade union representatives.
