Dublin Fire Brigade is investigating what caused a child to become trapped in an ambulance on St Patrick's Day.

The ambulance was taking the child - who was suffering anaphylactic shock - to Temple Street hospital when its power failed and all of its doors were locked.

It's understood a paramedic was forced to kick a window out to escape.
