A third man has now been arrested following last night's fatal stabbing in Kilkee.

The three men, all in their 20s, are being questioned by Gardaí in Kilrush in the wake of the incident which occurred in the Marian Estate just after 1 this morning.

A 25-year-old man who was injured in what Gardaí are describing as an altercation later died after he was brought to University Hospital Limerick.

A post mortem examination is being carried out there this afternoon.
