Police in the North have arrested a man in connection with the death of former IRA commander Gerard 'Jock' Davison.
He was gunned down in a street near Belfast city centre on his way to work in a community centre at around 9 o'clock yesterday morning.
He was previously linked with the murder of Robert McCartney, who was stabbed outside a Belfast bar in 2005 - but was never charged.
Last night PSNI officers searched a property in west Belfast in relation to the investigation.
A 41 year old man has been arrested and is being questioned by police in the city.
