Gardaí in county Cork are investigating an incident in Crookstown which began earlier today.

A firearm was discharged from a house during the incident.

Armed Gardaí attended the scene and at around 7pm this evening an elderly gentleman emerged from the house and spoke to Gardaí.

Two legally held firearms have been recovered from the house.

Gardai say no arrests have been made and no injuries were sustained during the incident.
