The Health and Safety Authority has begun an investigation into an incident at Tayto Park in County Meath last night, in which nine people were injured.

Management at the amusement park say its emergency plan was put in place when part of a staircase in the new "House of Horrors" attraction gave way.

The injured people were transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The amusement park has opened as normal this morning.

Tayto Park says it is cooperating fully with the HSA investigation.
