Ireland has scooped a major travel award in New York - for the fourth year in a row.

It was named "best destination in Europe" at the annual Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards.

Tourism Ireland says it's been a record-breaking year for Irish tourism from the United States.

By the end of 2017 around 1.83 million American and Canadian visitors will have travelled here seeing an annual increase of over 16 percent.
