A new report from the Environmental Protection Agency says we are likely to miss our target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
By 2020, Ireland is due to cut emissions by 20% below 2005 levels.
The EPA says we will only reduce emissions by between 4 and 6%.
Climate Change Minister Denis Naughten admits the report "paints a stark picture of the challenge facing Ireland".
The Green Party says it is due to government inaction, and claims we will be one of only two countries in Europe to miss our target.
