Irish citizens in Sydney are being strongly encouraged to 'review their personal security plans, remain aware of their surroundings and monitor police updates'.
The advice has come in tweets from the Consulate General of Ireland in Sydney in light of the ongoing incident in Martin Place.
They're telling followers to 'maintain a high level of vigilance'.
