An Irish man who was being detained in Australia is to be released on Friday.
26-year-old Bernard Lee from Greystones in Wicklow was arrested by armed police on Monday, after an admin error stated that he was in the country illegally.
His permanent residency visa was denied in May, but he never received a letter of notification, to which the Department of Immigration and boarder protection eventually admitted.
There were fears he could have been held for up to 3 months, but it was announced today that he will be allowed to fly home this Friday.
Speaking from inside Yongah Hill detention centre outside Perth, Bernard says he's delighted:
