An Irish man has reportedly been killed in a suspected car jacking in Mexico.
The 29-year-old man, originally from Co Louth, was travelling with his girlfriend who is from the US.
It's understood he was involved in a car-jacking incident in Lazaro Cardenas in the state of Michoacán.
Local media reports he was alive for a number of hours after being shot, but couldn't get help from a passersby.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it's aware of the case and is providing consular assistance to the family.
