A new survey has found that the number of people smoking in Ireland is falling faster than in any other European country.

A Eurobarometer survey carried out to mark "World No Tobacco Day" reveals an overall downward trend in smoking in Europe.

More than 1 in 4 of European adults are still regular smokers, while in Ireland the rate's fallen to 21%.
