27% of Irish teenagers had their first alcoholic drink at age 13 or younger.
That's one of the findings of a new European survey on drink and drug use among 15 and 16 year-olds.
The ESPAD (European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs) report finds alcohol use among Irish teens has fallen 15% in the last 20 years.
It found 35% had used alcohol in the past 30 days.
13% said they had been drunk in the past month.
77% of teenagers said it was 'fairly easy' or 'very easy' to obtain alcohol.
