Irish Water customers are being asked to specify the colour of their front door if they want to get the right bill.
It's reported the request from the utility company is to help with matching 50-thousand water meters to houses around the country.
Irish Water says a large number of properties with similar addresses is causing confusion on their database.
The problem is worst in rural areas where people give their townlands as their address.
