Ironman Cork: Gardaí Appealing For Video Footage

Gardai are appealing for video footage from an Ironman event in Cork last month where two men died.

44-year-old Brendan Wall from Meath, and 64-year-old Ivan Chittenden from Canada, died during the swimming section of the event in Youghal on Sunday 20th of August.

Officers are appealing to anyone who captured video footage during the swimming section of the race to make it available to gardai at Midleton. Gardaí at Midleton can be contacted at 021-4621550 or via email at Midleton.IncidentRoom@garda.ie

Gardai are helping the Cork County Coroner with its investigation into the deaths and subsequent Inquest.

The public is not requested to submit any footage at this time.

Members of the investigation team will make contact with them to arrange for the appropriate collection of any video footage.
