So-called Islamic State claims it carried out the terror attack in Nice which killed 84 people.
10 children are among those who died after a lorry targeted crowds watching a fireworks display on the seafront on Thursday night.
The driver was shot dead by police.
Sky News journalist Sam Kiley is in Nice and is urging caution about the claims:
An Irish man believed to have been injured in Thursday's terrorist attack in Nice has been located safe and well.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it no longer has any concerns for Irish citizens in the south of France. Following 60 specific enquiries about Irish people to the department's help line, the vast majority have been located.
The statment in full:
The Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade's Consular team and the Embassy Paris have reviewed and updated their assessment in relation to Irish citizens potentially affected by the Nice attack. More than 60 specific enquiries expressing concern about one or more Irish citizens were received on 14 and 15 July. The vast majority of those concerned have been accounted for and confirmed as safe and well.
The Department is continuing to work to establish contact with a small number of individuals with whom contact has not yet been made, but the Department has no reason to believe that any of these have been caught up in the incident.
As previously indicated, the Department had particular concerns relating to one case. Following intensive follow-up, the Department is now satisfied that there is no longer cause for concern in that case.
Efforts now are focused on making contact with a small number of individuals in order to assure ourselves that they are safe and well.
The Paris prosecutor's office claims five people have now been arrested in connection with the Bastille Day attack.
Three men were arrested this morning in police raids.
Another was detained yesterday.
The driver's ex-wife has also been detained.
