The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the northern town was taken from extremist fighters, after they withdrew from the area.
Meanwhile, talks aimed at securing a new ceasefire in Syria move to London today.
US Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting representatives from Britain, Germany, France and Italy to discuss putting pressure on Russia and the Syrian regime.
Mr Kerry held talks with Russia in Switzerland yesterday, but the meeting ended without any agreement.
