The Prison Officers Association says its deeply concerned after a car belonging to two prison officers was petrol bombed in Cork overnight.

It happened at a house in Dromond Drive in Blarney just after midnight.

No one was injured in the incident but the car was damaged.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Jim Mitchell from the Prison Officers Association says this is not the first incident affecting off duty officers.
