The jurors in David Mahon’s murder trial have heard he called Gardai to say: “it was me that did it” after he found out his stepson was dead.

The 46-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Dean Fitzpatrick at his apartment in Northern Cross, Malahide in Dublin in May 2013.

Earlier, the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis said he wasn’t able to confirm whether it was an “accidental run-on or deliberate thrust.”
