It's feared strike action by nurses could close hospital beds.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action yesterday - in their ongoing dispute over pay and conditions.

The union says other countries are offering attractive packages to encourage Irish nurses to move abroad.
