Photos of lost and stolen items are on display in Garda stations around the country today in the hope of finding the owners.

Gardai are holding a National Property Recovery Day with items on display including jet skis in Dublin to a set of chalices in Longford.

People are being invited to view catalogues of thousands of items in Garda Stations around the country. The items are also available to view on garda.ie

If someone recognises an item they can then arrange for viewings of the physical property in order to claim what’s theirs.

After a year and a day in Garda custody, unclaimed items are put up for public auction.
