A victim of revenge porn says it made her feel like she had "lost control of her life".
The Law Reform Commission is drafting new laws which it believes would help victims.
Their proposals would see images taken off the internet without the need for court orders.
The commission says the creation of new offences under the law is needed to prosecute offenders.
Currently revenge porn, which involves uploading intimate photos online without consent, is not a crime in this country.
