Around 200 people gathered in Adare in Co Limerick this morning to mark the 20th anniversary of the killing of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe by the IRA.

The 52 year old father of 5 was shot dead during a botched Post Office raid in 1996.

Family members were joined by senior Gardai for the wreath laying ceremony at 6 am this morning.

4 people have served sentences for manslaughter after his death.
