The President of the EU Commission says he's "convinced" that a deal will be struck this week to end the Greek debt crisis.

It follows tonight's meeting of euro zone leaders aimed at averting a Greek default.

Before the meeting the Taoiseach Enda Kenny was positive about the latest proposals from Greece, describing them as a basis for discussion.

They include VAT and pension reforms.

The Eurozone's finance Ministers will meet again on Wednesday to try and hammer out the details of an agreement.
