A verdict in the Jason Corbett murder trial in North Carolina could be considered by the jury by tomorrow evening or on Tuesday.
Judge David Lee advised the jurors on Friday night to be ready to consider a verdict early this week, despite predictions the trial could go on for four to six weeks.
The court has heard all evidence from the Prosecution, with evidence from the Defence due to wrap up on Monday.
Thomas Martens and Molly Martens Corbett deny the second degree murder of Limerick man Jason Corbett who was killed after he sustained multiple blows to the head two years ago.
They say they acted in self defence, in fear for their lives.
